The College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT) Library has conducted its 7th Information Literacy Program held at the Thesis Section of the library last September 5-7, 2018 with the Theme “Level UP Your Research.”

The program aimed to:

  1. Develop information-literate individuals through a series of learning activities towards a lifelong learning.
  2. Foster collaborative learning with the faculty and student organizations that will integrate information literacy competencies into the curriculum, scholarly conversations, and research work.
  3. Provide opportunities for librarians and staff to train and improved their knowledge.

The event is being conducted once every semester, wherein this time, the library focused on the basic library services and policies as well as the discussion of the library resources and databases subscribed by the University such as ScienceDirect, IEEE and Turnitin. The Consortium of Engineering Libraries of the Philippines (CELPh) eBooks was also introduced to students, which the library is a member of the said consortium.

The activity has 2 sessions every day for 3 days and it always started with the registration and a simple activity to test the stock knowledge of the students about the library before the lecture proper.  It was a success due to the support from the faculty of the different departments by requiring their students to attend the said event.

The total number of attendees for the said program was two hundred thirty-eight (238), which is thrice the number than the previous semesters.

Thank you to the students and faculty for supporting the programs of the library. (EAM/LCC)
